Yashwant Shikshan Sanstha’s ‘Tarkateerth Laxaman Shastri Joshi Vidyalaya is situated on the banks
of river Krishna at Wai which is known as ‘Dakshin Kashi.’ It’s located right in the heart of the city
near famous ‘Kisan Veer Chowk.’ The school was established to fulfill the educational needs of the
students in wai on 14th June 1965.
Formarly known as Wai High School was run in ‘Nanajkar Wada’ with very few students in the
begining. After a while it was shifted to the building of Raghunath Raje Pantasachiv of Bhor
Sansthan, presently known as Bhorkar Vitthal Mandir.
Later in 1986 in the presence of contemporary chief minister of Maharashtra
Hon Shree.Sharadchandraji Pawar Saheb, the school was named after the
founder of Marathi Vishwakosha, Sanskrit Pandit, the recipient of
Rashtrabhushan award Hon. late Tarkateerth Laxamanshastri Joshi.
In association with Rotary Club Wai & with the auspicious hands of
contemporary governer of India Hon. Dr. P. C. Alexzander, the computer lab
was inaugurated. This honoured us to be the first school
to provide computer education in the whole district.
When Tarkateerth Laxamanshastri Joshi’s nephew, welknown American
scientist Dr. Ashokraoji Joshi came to know about real state of the school.
He decided to provide financial help to the school. Thus Dr. Ashokrao Joshi
and the great efforts of sanstha secretary Mr. Adv. Arvind Chavan helped out
for the beautiful and well furnished building came into existence.
The governer of Utah state America, His exellency Jon.M.Huntsman was the
chief guest of laying corner stone ceremony conducted on November 2, 2007. When the school
building was under construction the school was conducted in two shifts. Principal S.P. Nalawade
handled the situation efficiently. All teachers assisted him.
New school building was ready then. It was inaugrated by the auspicious hands of Hon.scientist from
Salt Lake City, America Dr.Ashokrao Joshi on 7th Dec 2009.
These days sanstha affairs are looked after efficiently by the trustees and a leader of modern age
Mr. Jayvantrao Chavan, Mr. Adv. Arvind Chavan, Mr. Adv. Shreekant Chavan, Mr. Pratap Yadav,
Mr. Kiran Sabale and Mr. Adv. Lalit Chavan.
